The Theatre is located in the International Home Furnishings Center on the corner of Commerce Avenue and Hamilton Street. The public entrance is on Commerce Avenue, facing the Showplace building. The loading dock and stage entrance for the Theatre are on Hamilton Street, which runs one way through downtown.
From Winston-Salem & Points West: Take I-40 East to exit 196. (Hwy 311 South to High Point.) Take Hwy 311 South to High Point. Take the N. Main St. exit. (Exit 65) Take Main St. into downtown. (approx. 4 miles) Turn Left on Commerce. (just past the Radisson Hotel) Theatre will be in the second block on the right- just before the intersection with Hamilton Street.
From Greensboro: Take Wendover West to Hwy 68 South (Eastchester Dr.). Turn Left. Take this road into town. Turn left on Centennial. For the Main Entrance, turn right on Commerce. Theatre Entrance will be on the left just past the next light (Hamilton St.).
From I-40/I-85 & Points East: Take Business 85 South to High Point. Take the Highway 311/ Main St. Exit. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp. (Toward downtown) Turn right on Commerce. Theatre will be in the second block on the right.
From the Asheboro area (I-74 Northbound): Take the MLK Jr. Drive Exit on I-74/ US 311. Turn Left at the top of the ramp. Follow MLK Jr. Dr. into downtown. Turn Left on Centennial, then Right onto Commerce. The best parking is just before the next light (Hamilton St.). The Theatre is just beyond the light.
From Charlotte and Points South: Take I-85 to exit 111. Turn left at the top of the ramp. This puts you on Hwy 311 North. Take this road into High Point. (It becomes Main St. when you get into High Point.) Turn right on Commerce. Theatre will be in the second block on the right. For Parking, go through the intersection and turn left into the gated parking lot.
Parking Information:
There is plenty of free parking near the Theatre. You may use the lots at City Hall, just across Hamilton from the side of the Theatre. *Don’t park in spaces designated for 911 Dispatchers.*
There is also ample parking at Showplace, except during the 2 weeks before the Furniture Market. Entrances to the Showplace lots are located on Wrenn St. and Hamilton St., near the Showplace building.
Handicap parking for the Theatre is on a first-come basis along the sidewalk in front of the front entrance. Please be kind and don’t park in the passenger drop off directly in front of the front doors.
We also have an off-duty police officer during public performances out front acting as security. They can also direct you to nearby parking.
Parking is available on the street, in the parking deck next to the Red Lion Hotel; in City Hall spaces (not marked Police Dispatchers Only) at the corner of Hamilton & Commerce and Hamilton & E. Green; and in the IMC Buyers Parking Lot opposite City Hall on Commerce Street (Behind the New Classic building.).
